Devi in Vintage Guitar Magazine

If you love guitars like I love guitars, you’ll understand why I’m so thrilled to see our new live video of “When It Comes Down” featured on Vintage Guitar magazine’s website, along with a nice write-up of the Get Free album.

The band’s strengths are on display on “When It Comes Down,” a song with a melancholy feel, great hooks, and a soaring guitar solo that fits perfectly.

Thanks VG!

More Silent Night – from Stevie Nicks & The Kills

Kinda sweet to be mentioned in the same paragraph as the wonderful Stevie Nicks!

“Debra Devi’s lush indie-rock take on the oft-covered “Silent Night” features a reverb-drenched Fender Strat, Mellotron shimmers, and soaring vocals from Debra, adding her name to the long list of those who have recorded the song, including Stevie Nicks …”

Stevie’s cover of “Silent Night” is gorgeous – I really dig the new version from The Kills, too.

Better dust off my covers of “Landslide,” “Gold Dust Woman” and “Dreams”…!

Girl Rock Nation:”Debra Devi Gives Silent Night Indie-Rock Treatment”

I love Fender’s Girl Rock Nation blog – it motivates and inspires young women to rock in whatever they do – whether that’s picking up a guitar, writing a song, mixing sounds to make music or just rocking in life. Check out what GRN had to say about my Xmas single and Devi’s first live video!

How do you rock?

‘Silent Night’ in the UK & JC

I’m so glad people are enjoying my cover of “Silent Night” – my favorite Christmas carol of all. It’s featured in BUST magazine‘s Holiday Shopping Showcase and is playing this week on both Mark Watkins Music Show on Blast1386 radio from Reading College UK and Jim Testa’s Rock and Roll Gas Station show.

“O Holy Night” is my super-close-second fave carol, and I loved how Chrissy Roberts and Roland Ramos gave it a gentle Caribbean groove during their lovely rendition yesterday at the 2nd Annual Grace Church Holiday Concert. Beautiful performances all around at the show from little Katja (angelic!), The Autobodies,  Frank Ippolito, Found Wandering, Peter Moffitt, Amy Elise, Glen Coleman, Kate Kaiser, Teresa Blunda, Donald Gallagher, Mary, Carolyn Light, Dave Ace Case and more.
